Dr. Ulrich Zügel is the Emerging Science & Innovation Lead and the regional scout for preclinical partnering opportunities in Europe at Pfizer. Ulrich has more than 20 years of international experience in Pharma R&D. Prior to joining Pfizer, Ulrich was Head of Drug Discovery and Site Head at SILENCE THERAPEUTICS GmbH, Germany.

Before that he had different management positions in Drug Discovery at BAYER AG and Schering AG in Germany. During his career he successfully delivered numerous candidates to development in different disease areas. His academic career included postdoctoral work at the La Jolla Institute for Allergy and Immunology in San Diego, USA and at the University of Ulm, Germany. He graduated from the University of Tübingen, Germany in Biology. He is author of >50 scientific publications.
